Please take time to look through the proposed programme for 2003 and mark the dates of the various events in your new diary. While at this stage the details of much of the programme remain to be confirmed, and the availability of venues has to be checked, the dates are unlikely to change. Details will be confirmed via Spirals, circulars to Branch towers, and Ringing World adverts, as the year proceeds. As a last resort please contact any member of the committee if you need late details of any event.

It is good to see that this edition of Spirals includes a number of articles that have come from outside our regular circle of contributors. This is very welcome, as we want to make Spirals representative of the whole Sheffield Branch, and not just a mouthpiece for a few "hard core" towers. We want to hear news about your outings, quarter peals, and other special events. We also welcome any other ringing related articles, be they instructive, amusing, or just of general interest.

If you have any ideas for a contribution from your tower, please contact Elaine. She can then give you some idea of an appropriate length for your article, and advise on the best way of getting it to her for publication.

Finally, just a reminder that the next Branch committee meeting will take place on Sunday 12 January 2003. If you have any matters that you wish to raise with the committee, please contact the committee contact member for your tower.
